Jordan oversteps his role as Sheriff, again. As the story below unfolds, I'll respond here. Basically, Keech was fired from BCSO for doing his job. When BCSO terminated Keech's employment, they terminated his ability to fulfill the BCSO gym requirement, so now Jordan wants that money paid back?
Jordan hires an attorney WITHOUT county commissioner’s consent - of course, taxpayers had to pay for it. Jordan spent thousands of tax dollars to recoup $175 for the six months Keech missed in the gym.
Did Jordan win? NO. The county agreed to repay Keech the judgment of $175 to drop his appeal.
Beaufort County citizens paid the attorney fees and Harry Meredith to show up in court for ZERO return.

Thank you to all my supporters!!
We ran a good clean campaign.
We brought up issues that will be watched closer because of our efforts, and perhaps, that will make Beaufort County safer.
We will be watching BCSO.
I will be updating this website, and adding new information from time to time - it is NOT over until Beaufort County is safe and BCSO is going their job.

Dixon endorsed by NC PBA for Beaufort Co Sheriff !
Welcome to the Donald Dixon for Sheriff site!
THIS SITE IS UP FOR REFERENCE ONLY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PAST SUPPORT.

(2010)
As a life-long citizen and resident of Beaufort County, I have been honored to serve the people here - our families - in many areas of life. As a self employed businessman of over 22 years, I have learned several lessons that should be applied to government, primarily in the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
First, any wasted asset is wasted money. It doesn't matter if we're talking about a budget, money on hand, free or paid resources, or people. Waste takes money away from the tax payers. The tax payers - the citizens of Beaufort County - deserve better from their elected officials.
Second, people are assets. The longer a person works in a position the more valuable they become. It is to our advantage to retain patrol officers and investigators.
Third, citizens deserve to be treated with respect. Deputies are professionals and should treat all citizens equally and in accordance with the law.
I will work FOR the citizens of Beaufort County. I will protect the resources at my disposal to assure they are not wasted. I believe that officer job satisfaction is key in retaining experienced officers on the job. This is important to give citizens the service they deserve; it is my goal to improve the quality of living and overall safety of our homes and families in Beaufort County.
I will cut spending in the budget and increase the patrol manpower by at least one more officer per shift AT NO ADDITIONAL COST to the tax payers of Beaufort Country. This will provide better county coverage, better officer support, and in return safer citizens, families, and deputies.
Crime prevention and reduction will be a key focus for me as your Sheriff. While over the past year, North Carolina has seen a drop in overall crime, but not Beaufort County. Beaufort County has seen an increase in crime over the past 12 years with only slight drops at times, over the last 6 years there has been a steady increase in the crime rate - mostly violent crime. I pledge to focus on crime reduction and doing the job charged to the Sheriff of this county.
We will not only solve crime but WE WILL REDUCE CRIME.
I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration and your vote. I will turn the crime rate in this county around and fix the costly problems at the Sheriff's Office.
Your vote matters, use it as your voice for change in the right direction.
Vote Dixon for Sheriff.
Thank you, Donald Dixon
